Whereas Garmin units typically have storage capacity for a stricty limited number of Waypoints, using POI files allows for many thousands of more detailed entries to be stored.
In addition to giving each hill's location, these POI files contain the following information taken from the DoBIH:
Hill name, Height, Classification, DOBIH Hill Number, Drop, Grid Ref, Map number, RHB section number, plus details from the Feature, Observation, Comment, County & Survey fields of the DoBIH where available.
POI files are best stored in a MicroSD card in the following directory:
Hills.gpi contains details of all 21344 hills in the DoBIH (including Ireland).
