Easy Ice Climbing from Aviemore February 2024
We had a lovelly week based in Aviemore doing some easy ice climing in the Northern Cairngorm Coires.
- Aladdin’s Couloir (Grade 1) in Coire an t’Sneachda and returned via Goat Track (also Grade 1, when we did it due to steep cornicing)
- Jacob’s Ladder (Grade 1) in Coire an t’Sneachda and returned via 1141m (this GPX track)
- Fiacaill Ridge (Grade 1) between the two coires and returned via Cairn Lochan (1216m) and Miadan Creag an Leth-choin ridge.
- The Couloir (Grade 1) in Coire an Lochane, and back the same way after finding some steep convex ice at the top we didn’t like ;-0
Great fun
Must also recomend the Cairngorm Brewery and the Ryvoan Cafe
