In advance of our IML assessment we spent a week in the Swiss Valais getting acclimatised and checking out the local terrain. We to flights to Geneva and a train to Martigny then on to Sierre.

• Up to Cret du Midi then on the ridge to Cabane des Becs de Bosson (2985m)
• down to Zinal via Sorbois and the Barrage de Moiry dam
• Cabane de Mountet (2886m)
• Cabane de Tracuit (3256m)
• Hotel Weisshorn via 2621 col
• Cabane Illhorn (2147m) via Bella Tolla (3025) & pas de l’Illsee (2544)
