Winter (Jan and Feb) 2011
New Year – Tyndrum
The weather was a bit uninspiring so we didn’t take many photos.
We did however get some good walking in and bagged…
Ben Challum (1025m)
Beinn Fhionnlaidh (959m)
Beinn Dorain (1076m) and
Beinn an Dothaidh (1004m)
Beinn Dubhchraig (978m) and
Ben Oss (1029m)
Mid January – Killin
Weather so poor we promptly drove back home!
February Half-term – Glen Sheil and Braeriach
Despite some very strong winds we had a great week and managed to bag the following;
Saileag (956m) – too windy to do more!
Ciste Dhubh (979m) – a fantastic winter ridge! and
Am Bathach (798m) – a bonus Corbett
The Five Sisters of Kintail
A brilliant but hard 11hour winter ridge walk;
Sgurr Fhuaran (1067m)
Sgurr na Carnach (1002m) and
Sgurr na Ciste Duibhe (1027m).
SEE THIS GPS ROUTE – giving a nicer descent route than in most of the guidebooks.
Then we went east to get better weather and get a final walk in up Braeriach (1296m)
