Winter (Jan and Feb) 2011
New Year – Tyndrum
The weather was a bit uninspiring so we didn’t take many photos.
We did however get some good walking in and bagged…
- Ben Challum (1025m)
- Beinn Fhionnlaidh (959m)
- Beinn Dorain (1076m) and Beinn an Dothaidh (1004m)
- Beinn Dubhchraig (978m) and Ben Oss (1029m)
Mid January – Killin
Weather so poor we promptly drove back home!
February Half-term – Glen Sheil and Braeriach
Despite some very strong winds we had a great week and managed to bag the following;
- Saileag (956m) – too windy to do more!
- Ciste Dhubh (979m) – a fantastic winter ridge! and Am Bathach (798m) – a bonus Corbett
The Five Sisters of Kintail
A brilliant but hard 11hour winter ridge walk;
Sgurr Fhuaran (1067m)
Sgurr na Carnach (1002m) and
Sgurr na Ciste Duibhe (1027m).
SEE THIS GPS ROUTE – giving a nicer descent route than in most of the guidebooks.
Then we went east to get better weather and get a final walk in up Braeriach (1296m)
