Yeamans Hill Bagging List & GPS Waypoints
We now host the Yeamans Hill Bagging List & GPS Waypoints
“Yeamans” are The hills listed by Dr Eric Yeaman in his Handbook of the Scottish Hills (Wafaida, 1989). There are 2441 hills, known as Yeamans, in the book, which was the first ever publication to prioritise relative over absolute height in its selection – 100m rise being the main criterion but it also includes hills that are “at least 5km (walking distance) from any higher point”.
Yeamans were effectively the precursor of the HuMPs list, but current data suggests 320 Yeamans are not HuMPs (having less than 100m drop), and 15 are additional to the DoBIH & Tumps datasets.
