UK Area: Wales
Details: Starting point: Aberllefenni.
Waun-oer and Cribin Fawr are east of Cadair Idris. This walk starts on a logging road just outside the small town of Aberllefenni. I walked clockwise, so most of the ascent occurred immediately along a long, straight, steep path through dark woods to the top of a ridge (Mynydd Ceiswyn). It's an easy walk along the ridge with excellent views in all directions, particularly of Cadair Idris and north into Snowdonia. The descent from Waun-oer towards Cribin Fawr is very steep -- take care! I returned via the wide, well-maintained road through the forestry area.
