UK Area: England
Details: A 10.25 mile walk through scenic rolling countryside within the Rother valley area of East Sussex. Starting in the picturesque village of Robertsbridge, you climb quickly onto low hills on the north side of the valley, taking in some interesting woodland, the route of a disused railway line and the River Rother itself, to the isolated hamlet of Udiam. More ups and downs to follow, including a crossing of the Kent and Sussex Steam Railway, and after 6 miles into the walk, we reach the stunning Bodiam Castle for lunch, including an opportunity to visit the NT Tearoom. The return route starts back along the valley before climbing its southern slopes, culminating in a series of ups and downs across side valleys cut by tiny streams feeding into the River Rother before returning to Robertsbridge.
