Details: A walk of 2 halves. From the picturesque Fingle Bridge a gentle riverside stroll leads downstream to the road to Clifford Bridge. A stiff climb, initially up the road and then on forest tracks via Halls Cleave leads back across the road the Hitchcombe Wood. The route than follows tracks undulating past Wooston Castle through Houndsmoor Wood, Butterdon Ball Wood and Hore Wood to Charles Wood where a stony track descends sharply to Fingle Bridge. 10.8km, 700m ascent/descent, 2:50hrs. Recorded 10/9/18
