- In my records, I visited this first in 1980, but I think I may have visited the year before, when I ticked off South Head. Back then it wasn't on my list of Peak District summits though. The name relates to the practise of leasing out small blocks of land to tenant farmers in the 18th/19th Century, despite it being unsuited and/or insufficient for successful farming.
