- From a heaving Ambleside (half term week) with L (in her 20p goretex boots from a jumble sale!) up steeply past 'Nora's Cottage' on Brow Head, formerly owned by lovely Nora - the mother of our friend Sally and where we stayed for several weeks in 2008. Short detour from main path. RAF training jets still flying low level up Windermere and curving round this flank of Loughrigg.
