- 23/12/14 Two minutes off the main route up the Old Man. Distinctive crag from below and obvious top once there. No cairn. Impressive old slate quarry remains and big holes nearby. Strong cold gale force winds had us changing our plans for the high tops and scurrying back down to the valley for a wander up little High Guards and then back to the cottage in Broughton for lunch and to warm up before a 3 hour run around smaller local tops.
