Melmerby Fell, Knapside and Fiend's Fell from Melmerby 

Based on walk in Cicerone guide to N pennines. Start at Melmerby village, go E to Blea Scar and Melmerby Scar to Dun Edge. N along ridge to Knapside Hill and Fiend's Fell. Return along track and green lanes from Hartside Cafe via Twotop, Hazel Rigg and Gamblesby. 16.6km, 634m ascent/descent, 4:05hrs. (Based on a gpx trace recorded on 13/12/12)

Wild Boar Fell 

15.1km. From Cotegill Bridge to Swarth Fell then Wild Boar Fell and High Dolphinsty. Return via Hanging Lund and Slade Edge. (This route was generated from digital mapping and walked by the author on 8/2/12)

Great Rundale Tarn and High Cup Nick 

15km. From Dufton climb via Threlkeld Side to Great Rundale Tarn. Follow line of Tarn Sike and Maize Beck to High Cup Nick and return via Pennine Way. A great walk in winter when the ground is frozen. (This route was generated from digital mapping and walked by the author on 1/2/12)

Skiddaw Ridge from Threlkeld 

From Threlkeld the route goes up the Lonscale valley to join the Cumbria Way near Skiddaw House. It continues up the valley between Great Calva and Skiddaw before striking off steeply up Birkett Edge to Bakestall. From here is follows the Skiddaw ridge over Skiddaw Man and Little Man to meet the tourist route back to the car park before descending Latrigg to return to the start. 18.6km, 970m ascent/descent, 5hrs. Recorded 2/9/15.

Starting in Coniston,just over 12 miles, misses the Old Man, finishes along Walna Scar Road.

High Seat and Bleaberry Fell from Watendlath 

From Kettlewell NT CP follow lane to Watendlath. Climb on BW towards Blea Tarn. Above tarn follow fence to col then cross and aim back to Armboth Fell then descend and climb High Tove. Follow fences to High Seat and Bleaberry Fell. Descend FP NW then circle back by Falcon Crag to regain road at Ashness Bridge. 16.6km,672m ascent/descent, est time 4:25. (Based on GPS track recorded on 26/02/13)

Wet Sledddale Horsehoe 

A longer version of the normal horseshoe in favour of taking in Mosedale Cottage Bothy and a good route for seeing Red Deer. From Wet Sleddale Reservoir SW via Wasdale Pike and Great Yarlside. W along fence line via Harrop Pike to Sleddale Fell. NW to Tarn Crag then N to Mosedale. NE to Mosedale Cottage (good lunch stop). Continue ENE to Scam Matthew then NNW to High Wether Howe. E to Seat Robert then along wall to gate, Return via Sleddale Hall and S side of reservoir. 21km, 659m ascent/descent, est time 5:50. (Based on gps trace recorded on 7/5/13). Very squelchy route even in dry weather.
