Holmbury Hill Hike
A 12.5 mile circular walk starting in Little London near Albury. From there the route will go via Shere, Gomshall and Abinger Hammer, roughly following the Tillingbourne river, before continuing to Holmbury St Mary and picking up the Greensand Way to Holmbury Hill, the second highest point in the area after Leith Hill. This is a site of an ancient hill fort and will hopefully offer some excellent views across the Weald towards the South Downs, and the sea beyond. Gray Nag from Slaggyford
From Slaggyford village minor road SW to Longdyke Head. Left onto shooters' track SSW to Highshield Green. Track runs out at Wolf Cleugh. Follow fence line up hill to fence junction (best line is about 80m E of fence until dog leg at Long Grain). At fence junction follow fence ESE to Tom Smith's Stone. Cross fence and follow S side NE to Gray Nag. Follow wall E briefly to fence. Cross fence and descend SE along fence to Woldgill Burn. Cross stream and follow it to junction with Gilderdale Burn. Cross stream (no bridge despite FB on map). Follow S bank to FB. Join Isaacs Tea Trail/ Pennine Way (PW), head N to Whitely Castle. Cross road, follow PW to rwy. Follow rwy path to start. 20.5km, 630m ascent/descent, est time 5:15hrs. (GPS trace recorded 26/06/13)

4.6 miles, 1066 ft ascent. Its almost the Wainwright Latterbarrow but with a different start point and we missed a path so ended up a mile longer than we should have done.

8.1 miles, 3000 ft. of ascent. Starts from Glenridding and takes in Glenridding Dodd, Heron Pike, Sheffield Pike, Green Side, Hart Side and Birkett Fell. Took me and my son almost 6 hours!!

Park NY980124. BW NE to Pennine Way then W along PW to East Mellwaters, Take riverside paths to God's Bridge. FP SE to West Mellwaters then PW to East Mellwaters. BW S over Sleighthome Beck to Trough Scars. Follow wall E to minor rd and return to start. 8.6km, 129m ascent, 1:54hr. (Recorded 30/08/14)
