• A lot was stacked against me getting to this one on Elmley Nationl Nature Resrve. Signs at start of 3 km rough access track stated 1)Gate locked at 7pm. time was now 8.30pm and the gate was still open. 2. Access road closed for repair. 3. Reserve close on Wednesday (today was Wednesday). I timidly drove on - surface has been scraped for repair but driveable and no one around. Quick jog out and back passing cows grazing on the marshes to trig. Ranger(?) drove out from Kings Hill farm to check on me and to tell me I should have been told the reserve was closed on Wednesdays and that a permit would be required to explore the marshes/ visit the trig. I thanked him and left through the still ope gate.
