- Rising above the Southwick Tunnel on the A27 which was built by the The New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM), which saves money by taking advantage of the inherent geological strength in the surrounding rock mass to stabilize the tunnel .Often been referred to as a "design as you go" approach. Apparrantly installing a metal ring all around the newly cut tunnel especially once the bottom part connects greatly helps the rock strength to work. Trig slightly tricky to find in the dark among the many gorse bushes. Backtracked from path junction. Register... and Log In...
