• Fairly easily found, there is a footpath with a fork that will take you to the NE corner of the field, then a short walk along the top to the trig. It's behind a fence and surrounded by brambles and foliage, and I was in no mood to risk injury and ridicule by attempting to get over. However, the trig looks in good condition, with everything complete. Tranquil location with a nice view to the south.

• Good grief. Battled but FAILED to find the blasted thing, (I did not read up for clues sufficiently on trigpointinguk beforehand) Went into field below and around edge of crops, passing in front of house to fence / hedge (so close here but- thick brambles / foilage in June so did not see it looking in and assumed it would be higher up bank. Fought my way around and through prickly wood into rough wilderness garden (now above the trig) and explored high and low, but not low enough it would seem.I even went round again from a different angle, but scratched and nettle stung in shorts gave up assuming wrongly it was in edge of private garden. Strangely satisfying to have these mini epic failures. Am looking forward to a re-match!
